GUITAR NECK PRESS SYSTEM - With Full Neck Support Caul
DESCRIPTION
Our Guitar Neck Fret Press is a complete fretting system for 6 or 7 string guitars and can be adapted for use on other neck types including multiscales & bass guitar necks.
The screw system and guided caul ensure an evenly distributed pressure over the fret wire for a consistent fret radius.
The press is suitable for straight or angled headstocks and includes a full neck support caul with stepped heel rest for optimum support. The press is available with 2 neck caul options: 6-string guitar or 7-string guitar.
The photos illustrate the typical use when fretting a detached neck. Please note that the neck must be detached from the instrument as the unit will not span the full width of a guitar body.

FRAME & CONSTRUCTION
The contruction comprises of a marine ply base with anodised aluminium support posts and an oak top brace with central press screw. The wood is sealed for durability and resistance to moisture. The base features 3 positions for mounting the press depending on application and preference.
PRESS SCREW MECHANISM
The screw mechanism components are stainless steel. A single turn of the handle is typically required to press the fret into position. Guide slots maintain caul alignment and perpendicularity as the handle is turned.
PRESS CAULS
The press is supplied with a 10-piece set of stainless steel fret cauls. The fret cauls have a flat cross section contact surface ensuring easy caul seating onto the fret top.
CHANGING CAULS
The caul is located onto the press screw using a spring retained thrust collar. The thrust collar transfers the torque from the screw into pressing force over the caul.
To remove the fret caul: pull the thrust collar downwards.
To re-fit the caul: push collar up until it engages on the end of the screw.
FULL LENGTH NECK CAUL
The overall neck caul size is 58mm wide x 45mm high x 495mm long. The felt covering and rounded shoulders cushion the neck profile. The stepped section of the caul safeguards the support underneath the neck when fretting over the transitional profile at the heel.
GENERAL PURPOSE USE
The press is capable of pressing frets on other neck types subject to a maximum fret length of 75mm and incorporation of a suitable neck support.
OPTIONAL ITEMS
Grooved Cauls are also available. See separate product details.
