DIY FRET PRESS - Press Unit With Radiused Caul Options

The DIY Fret Press combines all the essential requirements of a fret press into a compact fretting unit.

FEATURES

High force and full control of pressure is delivered via the screw mechanism and handle.

The fret is pressed using a single turn of the screw after initial caul seating is made.

Caul seating over the fret is maintained when inspecting and making any minor adjustments.

MOUNTING THE PRESS

The press is designed for fastening onto the underside of a beam. Please see the Mounting Guide for further information.

CAULS

Please note the Fret Press Module excludes cauls enabling these to be purchased as required from the menu.

10 sizes are available: 7.25", 9.5", 10", 12", 14", 15", 16", 17", 20" & Flat.

Cauls are 75mm wide and made from stainless steel.

The cauls have a flat cross section permitting a small amount of misalignment between fret and caul.

OPTIONAL GROOVED CAULS

Grooved cauls are also available.

These can be purchased from the separate grooved caul product details .

CHANGING CAULS
The caul is located onto the press screw using a spring retained thrust collar.

The thrust collar transfers the torque from the screw into pressing force over the caul.
To remove the fret caul: pull the thrust collar downwards.
To re-fit the caul: push collar up until it engages on the end of the screw.
