CROWNS THE FRET TOPS & POLISHES THE SIDES
PROTECTS AGAINST FILING OVER THE FRET TOPS
ALSO DRESSES THE FRET CORNERS/SHOULDERS
VERSATILE, UNIQUE & SAFE SYSTEM
The system uses emery abrasive with a blue twill cloth backing, providing an alternative to a traditional fret crowning file. The bottom of the crowning tool has a concave abrasive pressure surface that matches the fret profile, ensuring the bi-folded abrasive is directed away from the top of the fret.

The system is ideal for most applications where moderate levelling has been carried out. For hard frets or those that have been heavily levelled, some local filing may be beneficial before utilising the tool.
The tool is constructed from durable 304 stainless steel, featuring a specially designed body and an ergonomic offset hardwood handle. It is built to last and will not wear out. Additionally, it comes with three grades of industrial emery: medium, coarse, and extra coarse.

METHOD
To ensure optimal results, trim the abrasive along the bottom of the tool using shears. Use the provided small spreader to press the abrasive against the tool on both sides of the central gap.
As the abrasive wears down, fresh emery can be fed through the tool. Generally, each new portion of abrasive is sufficient to dress one fret, and 1-2 strips of abrasive are needed to crown an entire guitar. As the emery becomes smoother, it develops distinct finishing properties for metalworking, allowing the fret to be polished with the same abrasive.
