3-INCH & 6-INCH FRET LEVELLERS - For Spot Levelling & Polishing Frets

SIMPLE & COST EFFECTIVE SOLUTION

The fret levellers are available in 3-Inch and 6-Inch versions. The tools can be used with traditional emery abrasive for spot levelling, or fine grit polishing paper for dressing lightly worn frets. The tools are designed for standard 25mm width abrasive roll (non PSA) but can also be used with any abrasive paper type that is trimmed to size.

The tool features grips for retaining the abrasive at each end which also allow for use underneath the strings. The tool typically spans 3 strings enabling a wide section of the fretboard to be covered.

Choice of grit will depend on the nature of the repair and it is recommended to use successive grades and finish with 2500 grade to polish out. The polishing paper is folded in half creating a double sided strip.

The tools are manufactured in our workshop and the process includes linishing of the levelling face over a granite surface table to ensure flatness.

OPTIONAL STRING RAISER

The optional string raiser will create extra space for the tool to move over the frets. It is recommended when the full length of fretboard is being worked on but can be omitted if working on the high frets only (typically past the 12th fret).

The string raiser is easy to fit and the design allows the string lifting bar to be positioned close up against the nut. The bar is made from stainless steel and curved along its length. The bar finds its own resting point on the fretboard thus accommodating any radius and also flat boards. The smooth surface of the bar provides flexibility for moving the strings if required and is stable under tension. A thin strip of rubber underneath the bar protects the fretboard from being marked.
