CONCEPT
The guitar workstand will convert your workbench space into an efficient utility for guitar repairs, setups and maintenance. The workstand is suitable for acoustic, semi-acoustic and solid body guitars.
ERGONOMIC DESIGN - One of the most important factors of the design is the guitar neck height, which is positioned at 200mm above the benchtop for better working posture.
GOOD HOUSEKEEPING - The support surfaces are easy to manage and keep clean when compared to dust and filings that may be hidden in a mat or carpet offcut.
ORGANISATION - The raised guitar supports create space below for organising tools and materials which are kept close to hand but away from the guitar.
ENGINEERED DESIGN - Kinematic design principles are incorporated throughout for easy adjustments and correct support of the instrument. These feature in the neck rest, guitar body supports and the guitar neck clamp jaws.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION - BASIC & MODULAR WORKSTANDS
The workstand features a robust solid oak base rail with detachable legs at each end. The base rail has mounting holes for the different body support options and is fitted with the guitar neck rest.
GUITAR NECK REST
The guitar neck rest is 285mm long x 20mm thick beech covered with cork. The neck rest incorporates a shallow 'C' shaped neck location groove that centralises and supports the neck without restricting the handling of the guitar. The support is fixed on 3 aluminium riser posts mounted on the main base.
UNIVERSAL GUITAR BODY SUPPORT
Fine adjustment is made by rotating the support pad on the central screw. This raises or lowers the guitar body until the neck is level along the neck rest. A thumb wheel locks the support at the desired height.
For stability, the designed screw height adjustment range is 25mm. The support comprises of an aluminium baseplate with the screw mounting and 3 additional 25mm thick oak packing blocks provided to give a total range of 100mm.
The support pad is made from marine plywood and covered with thick firm neoprene foam on both upper and lower surfaces. The pad has a flat central portion and kerfed outer edges that provide support for the curvature of the guitar back. The pad is reversible and when turned over converts the seating to a flat/domed suface suitable for flat bodied guitars. The support pad is fastened using 2 quick change thumb screws.
OPTIONAL - GUITAR NECK CLAMP JAWS
An optional central neck clamp mechanism provides extra security for working. The clamp jaws are sprung open for ease of operation and clamped via a thumb-wheel arrangement.
The height of the clamp unit can be raised to suit the application. The clamp can be lowered clear of the neck support if not required and is also easily detached from the workstand.
The clamp jaw blocks are made from walnut to ensure soft clamping and are designed to cater for both tapered neck angle and parallel clamping. The blocks have soft ribbed rubber coverings to provide grip on the neck.
For precise setting, the height of each block can be individually adjusted. The jaws also have rubber bump strips around them to provide protection when handling the guitar.
MODULAR GUITAR WORKSTAND VERSION DIFFERENCE
The modular workstand includes the universal guitar body support as decribed above and an additional solid body guitar support.
SOLID BODY GUITAR SUPPORT
The solid body support has an adjustable mechanism that will accommodate different neck angles and body thicknesses. Both height and angle of the support are adjustable via independent screw jacks at the heel and body positions.
The solid body guitar body support is made from marine plywood and is covered with 5mm thick firm neoprene foam. The supporting structure is made from aluminium and stainless steel components. The solid body support offers improved support for thin bodied guitars and reduces strain on the neck join when undertaking heavier tasks.
The body support can be positioned leaving space to accommodate the neck clamp jaw and change in neck/heel shape or reversed to sit immediately adjacent to the neck rest.
ASSEMBLY & SET UP
The unit is dismantled for shipping and requires a small amount of sub-assembly.
GUITAR WORKSTAND - Modular design with optional specifications
“I recently purchased a modular guitar workstand. The quality is superb and I would very much like to add the fret press to it. Can that upgrade be purchased separately?”, C.T., Richmond, USA.
A.....”Yes, the press can be supplied separately”.
