ADJUSTABLE ANGLE FRET END BEVEL FILE - Variable angle from 0 to 35 degrees
For use on bolt on guitar necks only.
Our Adjustable Fret End Bevel File provides a solution for alternative bevel angles, with the file angle being fully adjustable from 0 to 35 degrees. This is useful where string spacing encroaches on the fret ends and a steeper bevel angle is necessary to avoid string roll off. It is also beneficial on frets closer to the nut for optimal string spacing or where the spacing is fixed by a locking system and cannot be reduced.
Precision machined from high-quality oak, the radiussed underside guarantees smooth travel and a consistent bevel angle along the frets. The hand finished edges ensure a comfortable grip during use.
The file is mounted in a machined polyamide bar which can be pivoted to the desired bevel angle. The bar angle is locked via allen head screws at each end of the tool. The cylindrical shape of the bar provides clearance for burrs and minimises contamination of the bar from filings. (See schematic diagram).
A flush reference pin & notched end plate enable easy selection of angles from 0 to 35 degrees.
The nominal tool length is 5-1/2" (145mm). The file grade is 2nd cut smooth - designed for high removal rate combined with a good finish and is suitable for alloy and stainless steel frets. The file is removeable allowing each side to be fully utilised and is clamped securely using allen head screws at the side.
The tool body is fine finished with wax for protection against moisture.
Please note the tool is not suitable for use on acoustic guitars or thru-neck guitars.
